9:30-4:30 both days

i sat through two long lectures at Nikon School. the first day(saturday) both michael swartz and bill durrence talked about digital slr(single lens reflex) bill durrence does mainly wildlife photography and hes done quite a few jobs for national geographic. michael swartz on the other hand has been nominated three times for the pultzer prize, hes had a ten year contract with the usa today so far, worked for life magazine, forbes, national geographic, has photographed famous celebs such as usher and outkast. and so much more. well anyways they did the course all day saturday like i said on digital slr photography. then all day sunday they both taught a course on streamlined workflow technique. which is where they went into teaching techniques in photoshop, capture nx and picture project which is a computer program just for nikon users. then they went into how copyright works and did you know once you take a picture that that picture is copyrighted to you. interesting huh. and the final thing they went into was about how to run a photography buiness mainly freelance. after then final lecture i got to converse privately with michael swartz after everybody else had left and he gave me his email addresse and phone number and told me that if i ever needed help with anything or just needed some adivice i could call him or email him. i felt very privaliged to recieve this from such a well known photographer because he is also ranked as one one of the nations top 10 best photographers by photography magazine.

6:30-8:30

today i met back up with melody. we went over some more photos i took this past weekend and she really liked one of the ones i took of a retired pi i met this weekend. i croped part of his face were his sunglasses were and changed it from color to black and white which adds for a more dramatic effect. we tried to figure out new things for me to photograph and we decided that we would get back together sunday so i could go to her ceramics studio at uga and photograph her while she worked on a pot of hers or even threw some more clay i guess ill find out sunday. she has really helped me figure out new ways to photograph and has got my imagination turning.

watch yourself

watch yourself is a photo i took this past weekend(3-24-07) of a guy named tom. he was a (PI) for 25 years but has since retired. anyways he told me some very intersting stories. so i use this photo to remind myself there is always someone who cares and not everyone is boring.
